Pelling is located in Sikkim at an altitude of 6,800 ft from the sea level, it offers good view of mountain ranges including the Koktang, Kumbhakarna, Rathong, Kabru, Dom, Khangchendzonga, Pandim, Zopuno, Shimbho, Narsing, Siniyalchu and others.. Pelling is about 133 km away from Siliguri and 125 km from Gangtok and well connected by bus and jeep services. The Himalayas and the Kanchenjanga may be viewed closely from Pelling. The entire route from Yuksam over Dzongri La to the Rathong Glacier can be seen. Pelling is famous for the magnificent view of the snow-capped mountains of Khangchendzonga, world’s third highest mountain. Pelling is an ideal getaway for tourists as it comprises of numerous waterfalls, soft trek routes, villages and soothing atmosphere. High above, there are forest covered hills which has combination of snow and rock.

Sangacholing Monastery is the second oldest monastery of Sikkim, and to reach to this monastery one has to walk on steep hilly slope which lead through rich forests area. Khecheopalri Lake is considered as one of the sacred lakes of Sikkim. The lake remains hidden in the forests. Sangay Waterfall is10 km from Pelling and it is a popular tourist spot. The best time to visit Pelling is  Mid- February To May end & Mid-September To December. It is very cold in winters, sometimes Pelling is covered with blanket of snow then.
