Dharamshala is a quaint hill station located on the spur of the Dauladhar range. It is known for the lustrous scenery dotted with high pine and timber trees and tea gardens. Encircled by fir trees it has a very peaceful ambience. Dharamkot is a small hill at an altitude of 2100 meters and gives a breath taking view ofthe nearby Kangra district and the peaks of Dauladhar. The Chamunda Devi temple dedicated to Goddess Chamunda is 15kms from Dharamshala, in the village of Dadh. Kareri Lake is a beautiful picnic spots and is 13kms away from Dharamshala. The lush green meadows dotted with oak and pine trees further enhances the beauty of this lake. The shrine of Bhagsunag, dedicated to Lord Shiva is within walking distance from Macleodganj Bazaar in the Upper Dharamshala. It is a popular pilgrimage place.
