Daman and Diu is the second smallest union territory in India They are two different parts, enclosed between sea on one side and Gujarat on the other. Daman is situated near Surat. Daman is situated on the west coast of India, on the Arabian Sea. Daman lies on the banks of the Daman Ganga River, some 170 km north of Mumbai. It was earlier a Portuguese territory, till 1961. At Moti Daman, the fort, the stately Light house, gardens, historic monuments and ancient Gothic style churches, are famous tourist spots. At Nani Daman, the Nani Daman Fort and the church inside, and the fishing jetty where boats are anchored, are worth paying a visit. Other popular tourist spots in Daman are Damanganga Tourist Complex, Kadiaya Lake Garden, Pargola Garden, Mirasol Water Park, The Paryatan Bhavan, House Of Bocage, Collector House.
