i  am  planning  to  come  to  ooty  from  bangalore  in  last  week  of  may.  i  want  to  visit  Mudumalai  park  and  go  for  a  safari.  should  i  take  off  on  the  highway  while  coming  or  come  to  ooty  and  go  back.  i  also  like  to  visit  Toy  Train  to  Nilgiris,Katery  falls,  Pykara  Lake,  Doddabetta  Peak.  As  i  am  not  aware  of  the  distane  of  these  places  from  ooty.  please  suggest  a  plan  where  i  can  cover  all  these  places  in  2  days.

Do  we  have  AC  Firsta  Class  coaches  in  trains  from  Pune  to  Coimbatore??  sorry  for  being  soo  particular...

no,  there  are  no  First  class  AC  Coaches  running  from  Pune  to  Coimbatore.  But  Second  AC  is  available  from  Pune  to  Coimbatore  in  Kanyakumari  Express  and  Coimbatore  Express.

How  is  the  Hotel  "Sagar  Resorts"  in  OOty??  are  the  cottages  good  and  comfortable  to  stay??

The  resort  is  located  in  the  hill  top  (4  kms  before  charring  cross  off  coonoor  road)  facing  ketti  valley.  The  resort  location  and  the  valley  view  are  too  good  and  worth  it  for  the  price  paid.  The  rooms  are  spacious  and  good  to  accommodate  two  or  three.  The  flooring  in  the  room  are  in  wood  and  bathroom  is  fitted  with  geysers  and  runs  hot  water  for  24  hours.  The  resort  also  operates  a  winch  which  would  be  useful  for  ladies  and  senior  citizens  to  commute  between  rooms  and  reception.  Only  the  stay  in  resort  and  the  view  of  the  ketti  valley  from  the  balcony  provided  in  each  and  every  room.  Its  a  great  place  with  breath  taking  view.  The  resort  is  very  calm  and  good  for  a  relaxed  stay.  The  restaurant  is  run  by  Signature  Crest  and  not  by  the  resort.  Food  was  horrible  and  extremely  high  priced  for  the  quality  and  quantity  provided.  The  resort  doesn't  serve  booze  and  if  you  are  counting  on  it,  you  will  be  damn  disappointed.  The  resort  guys  will  help  you  get  one  from  the  local  TASMAC  shop  where  cheap  brands  are  sold.  The  resort  states  that  you  can  wine  and  dine  at  the  dining  room  but  don't  be  fooled  by  that  'coz  you  need  to  bring  your  own  wine.  The  winch  mains  are  off  always  and  one  needs  to  call  up  reception  each  and  every  time  the  patrons  need  to  go  up  from  rooms  till  reception.  From  winch  top  to  reception,  there  is  another  lift  which  takes  u  up  by  3  floors.  The  place  is  located  on  top  of  a  hill  with  a  great  view.  Each  cottage  has  a  great  balcony  overlooking  the  valley.

how  can  we  reach  OOTY  from  PUNE??  is  there  a  direct  train??  with  AC  Class  coaches??

No  there  is  no  direct  train  from  Pune  to  Ooty.  you  have  to  first  come  to  Coimbatore  and  then  from  coimbatore  to  Ooty  by  Mountain  Railway.  In  mountain  railway  you  dont  need  AC  coaches  because  the  weather  there  is  awesome.

What  is  the  best  way  to  get  to  Ooty  from  Cochin?
